| St Audries Bay  Went fishing today in the Bristol Channel and what a great little sesh it was! Fished 2 up 2 down with a 3 hook flapper on 1 rod and a whole squid on the the other. Apart from a solitary knock on the squid rod all the interest was in the worm baited flapper which landed me a dozen codling from 4 oz up to a pound with a couple of double shots thrown in. Would be nice to catch a "taker" for a change but I'm not going to complain! All the fish came to my new "Abu Hellbender" 16 foot long rod which did a great job on the bite detection front and I'm looking forward to getting used to castiing with it as today was the first time I've used it. It felt a little "ungainly" at first but I was still knocking out a good 100 yards with a simple over head thump so I wonder what I might be able to achieve with some practice? | Re: St Audries Bay Nice to see something coming out, and good luck with the 16 footers, I got myself some 14's but wont be using them until the arm heals, so struggling to do 75 yrds on a 12' LOL __________________ Life is understood looking backwards, but it must be lived forwards. |
