Fingers crossed.... Went out and dug some lug this afternoon but not a lot of casts showing at present but still managed a couple of dozen decent size worms. Hoping to get out tomorrow lower BC for a few hours but I'm also "on call" at work so praying that by 8 o'clock my phone hasnt rung, really want to use those worms rather than freeze them! If I do get out I'll post a report upon my return.

Re: Fingers crossed.... Talking of worms nick i have found buying black lug frozen is a better option than fresh. They get oiled and salted before they are frozen and are in better condition thawed out than the fresh from the same shop! Do you oil and salt them too?

Re: Fingers crossed.... Hi excarper, I have salted worm before and stored them in an airtight container but havnt oiled them and didnt freeze them down either but seem to remember that i wasnt paticularly impressed with the results. i did catch on them but found that they were too "leathery". Perhaps I'll try again but oil them and freeze them down instead of just preserving them in salt. Do you know the best oil to use? I have some pilchard oil in the fridge. It's 0741 and the phone aint rung yet, just 19 more minutes to hold out and then the day is mine!! Fingers crossed! lol
