2 venues in one day

Evening all....
Seeing as it was a day where it wasnt icey or blowing a hooley i filled up the car and hit the road today.
We went dow to Penzance at low tide and stuck a few different baits on the bottow. We had one nibble the entire time. Bored of that we packed up and headed up to Fly Cellars in Newquay, which was pretty busy.
Not a sasauge........
Then it went dark
My rod started shaking away, and every time i went to pick it up the dam thing stopped.
finnaly i picked it up in time, reeling in my first decent whiting, weighing a good pound or so. My mate also had some luck, landing a crab.
Deffinantly gonna head down there again if theres a high tide at sunset.

Have you tried some of the deep rock marks at Rinsey ? had some monster Wrasse over there and Perranuthnoe has given me some nice Bass on rag n squid !

Menspants has always looked a bit suspect to me or is it just the 3 eyed mutants that live there !

Would suggest trying again in May time when some specimen bangers can be found

Not done rinsey before. My mate was saying about it the other day but if theres fish about I might have to make a little trip down there. :)

If you park at the carp park nearest the beach ( 2 mins walk ) and then hike down the rather dodgy steps then head to the left you will cross the sand and end up higher up on one of the rock platforms which are pretty flat and safe also..beware if theres a swell about and dont forget getting back as its almost impoosible to climb back up the cliff once youre on the rocks !
Some of the rock pools there are amazingly large,crystal clear and brilliant for swimming in in the summer months !
Make sure you keep tackle simple and half a rag or small crab dropped at your feet will entice some mahoosive Ballans!
Failing that if you climb up the rocks and face back toward the steps there are large patches of sand to fish over so you can you 2 or 3 hook rigs .
