Set for Somerset

Day off Friday and I'm off to somerset for a 48hr fishing binge in the bristol channel.

Weather predictions from metcheck looking good. bait ordered. B&B Booked.

Driving down from W.London Thur should get to blue anchor at midnight to fish the tide in and over an hour till 5/6am ish. Few hours in the car in my sleeping bag, and i plan to fish the low and incoming tide at hinkley till it gets dark. If I'm catching, this might be later but it does get real spooky down there on your jack jones... :).

I'm then retiring to a local B&B for a wash n brush up, followed by a short stroll to an equally local drinking establishment. :

Up at 8 Sun for brekkie and back to the point for 10 to fish at low till high tide or whenever I've had enough. Driving directly back to the smoke...

Gotta cram it in cos I'll be away in Germany on business for the next few weeks so wont get any fishing.

Cant wait.

Tight lines for your trip, as Jim Morrison sang, "The west is the best".

Re: Set for Somerset

Hope there is a good reward for all that effort - Saturday sounds like it's going to be wet on the inside then.

Re: Set for Somerset

Apologies for delayed report.

been in germany since i returned.

Used 1kg rag, and few bags of oiled lug to get 3 eels, (biggest 3lb), and the highest number of 3 inch cod I have ever seen..

That aside, saw thirteen shooting stars Saturday night (remnants of persius shower i presume).

Couple of dogs on the sunday and more small cod/whiting. Nothing worth getting the camera out for but hey ho, thats the way it goes.

Here in germany over the weekend, and I brought my telescopic rod and a few bits of tackle. gonna head to the coast this weekend, anyone know any marks on the north coast of germany??

or a bait shop?

:)
