Took a trip to Plymouth yesterday with my mate. fished the tide up and down from the embankment side of the river. 1 flounder about 1.5lbs at the top of the tide. 6 baby bass and an eel during the drop, all on lug. An enjoyable session, finishing just as the rain started. lovely.

Re: up and down on the tamar if its the enbankment he's talking about it is actually the estuary of the plym located between plymouth and marsh mills r/bout. Good spot for flounder, also get some whiting lower down a bit later on.

Re: up and down on the tamar Think your right Westdevon, sounds like the Plym. If anyone interested in fishing there then a good spot is by the Laira Bridge. Fast tidal flow but can be good fishing. Pingu, the Tamar is good for Rays, along with Bass. If you cross over the Tamar Bridge into Saltash then fish under the bridge you have a good chance for Bass whilst further up Rays are about at the moment. Bait used is King Rag and/or peelers as they are found locally although live sandeels are catching as well.

Re: up and down on the tamar Hi pingu, westdevon and jaguar09, yes I was fishing up the plym, down river from the yacht club (apparently thats a good spot) across the grassed area with the very handy car park (free) a short walk away. The fish were caught at the top and for about 2 hours on the down tide. I'm looking for marks to fish from so will try those you have mentioned, cheers.
