| Dont you know where you are? It seems to me many fishermen are so blotto on tinnies that they dont actualy know where in England they are fishing! Devon has two coasts and given the criteria here, Chesel, Dawlish, Torquay, Brixham, etc are on the SOUTH COAST. ie: between Gravesend and Lands end. Whereas Bude, Ilfracome, Lynmouth, Barnstaple etc are on the SOUTH WEST COAST as determined here ie: from lands end to Bristol. So just shape up guys. | Re: Dont you know where you are? Yes i did know Bude was in Cornwall, I remember holidaying there one october, we stayed at a place called woolfardisworthy with our two young children and a spaniel. As we walked down the empty streets curtains would move as they peeked at the strage people holidaying in october. We went to bude one day, we were the only people there. The children insisted on paddling and my wife and i huddled under bin liners in the torrential rain. I didnt make myself clear, I mentioned bude to emphasise which coast it is on. And thanks pingu for putting into a couple of lines what took me ten lol. __________________ Luv Foggy It wasnt me! |

| Re: Dont you know where you are? Devon & cornwall both have two coasts. North & south. Both counties are classed as south west. Chesil, Dawlish, Torquay & Brixham are on the south coast. Bude, Ilfracombe, Lynmouth & Barstable are North Cornwall for Bude, & North Devon for Ilfracombe, Lynmouth & Barnstable. Just to be pedantic. |

| Re: Dont you know where you are? Dear Mr. Dixon, You may live in Devon as I do, however several members do not and the posts here are proof that there is confusion about which coasts certain parts of Devon are on. Purely for the purposes of this thread the Fishing forum has deemed the coast of South Devon to be called the South coast and the coast in North devon is deemed to be called the South west coast, wheras perhaps most of us call the whole of Devon and Cornwall the South West. I rather object to being called a geogrthy teacher whatever that is, many users are placing fishing reports for Torquay, Chisel etc in the South West section when they should be in the South coast section(According to the forums decision). Judging from your post I agree you do not need a Geography (If thats what you meant) teacher, but a good English teacher might find your brain fertile ground. Kindest regards Dr Fogg. __________________ Luv Foggy It wasnt me! |
