Weymouth a nice little holiday

Just been on my holiday to weymouth . Which i had 2 fishing sessions on weymouth pier below nothe fort . On my 1st session I fished in the morning and caught a few little wrasse not to far out . It was a bit like roach fishing it was that frustrating.
After getting some new rods , reels and tackle. after watching what others were doing I used my new 10' multi purpose and one of my 12' beach casters and fished in the afternoon / evening . Using mackeral for bait , I used my 10' as a float and spinner and my beach caster ledgering. Having moved to the end of the pier after watching 3 mullet play with my bait I now know whats mullet fishing is like. After changing my float rig by adding orange beads , after having tried a bit of spinning . I hooked in to a mackeral, then on my ledger rod i landed a small pollock, then after nearly losing my 10' rod I landed a bigger mackeral and then called it quits , with a nice smile on my face . A very happy holiday.

Re: Weymouth a nice little holiday

The worse part is not just watching them go nuts on my bait but knowing where there are loads of mullet in weymouth and you can't fish for them. Oh twids try a mackeral and bread groundbait that is supposed to be a killer for mullet.
