newbie going to perrenporth at the weekend

hi all ,first of all my name is andy from immingham lincolnshire,my local marks are river humber between immingham dock and stallingbourgh during the winter months and lincs coast in the summer,any way im going on a family holiday to perranporth (cornwall)on the 8th of august hoping to do a bit of beech casting or plugin between entertaining my two young uns,has any body got anyadvice on marks baits ,rigs tide ect,many regards andy

I havent fished perran mate, but theres some good advise if u stick fishing in cornwall into google. :P

I was there for a week last week.

Lovely beach with a good surf. You need to fish from the rocks to the left of Perranporth looking out to sea. there are a number of rocky platforms and you are fishing onto clean ground. Best bait is sandeel or if you can get it fresh peeler. It is one of the few places I know that you can get a turbot from the shore. There are plenty of Bass and rays.

You could try plugging around the rocks for Bass and Pollock at dawn or dusk. I never had a chance to do that but it looked like it would produce.

thanks for the advice pirate,it just so happens i manage to get hold of 5 kgs of sandeel should keep me going through the week ,what rigs did you use ,im thinkin a runing ledger rig with a 3 foot snood?ish cheers andy

ye my dad works in a fish meal factory and they got a load of sandeel come in as offal and was fresh so he bagged a load and froze it.

hi all i had a great time in perranporth fishing wasnt to good ,i managed to get a few sessions in over low water to the right on the beach,only 1 bass caught just over a 1lb put went back ok ,me dad managed a small turbot and a weaver,but still enjoyed the fishing,weather was excellent for a couple of days,drank plenty of beer and the pastys was spot on
