wet,wet, wet night at bossington

last night was a club match at bossington

now this was part one of baggies big weekend pass, we really were stumped where to go but wind/rain etc made south none to pleasent so off we go up north for this comp

arrived in good time and set off over the fields and set up in time, was still dry at this point
views east and west, by time 5 hour comp done we were on top of this bank , good old big tide here

as you can see the skies look a tad imposeing and as the 5pm start came round so did that steady rain that just soaks you
my brolley was leaking, then wind changed and was useless anyway
I had forgotten it was such a tackle graveyard and buy end of match had just 1 lead left
i managed 2 undersized pout and lost what i was sure was a good conger that bit through 25lb snood

we watched this tall ship for a good while

which later andy phoned coast gaurd for as was dragging anchor( they radiod and sorted)

by now we were soaked through it was horrid, last 2 hours of comp were pergatory although we did see some good hounds landed that kept the thought of fishing going

eventually baggie managed to land a fish , and wow his first ever codling

and with 12lb specimin a full 8% at 1lb , so in running for smallest fish in comp in year, great fish mate and points

come the end i still had nothing to weigh in
out of the dozen or so there 1/2 blanked
there was another codling caught and a spotted ray and a few smoothies
winner had 2 smoothies 8lb and 6lb
nice to see a comp won without doggies

now where to go this afternoon / eve ( if i can get all my gear dry ) as we darent lose baggies pass,( although enthusiasm is waining as just keep wasteing bait and leads lately) and the wind and rain have mostly passed

Now you come to mention it mate, it wasn't as spikey as it should have been... Ah well..

A solitary moment of light in an othewise grey (and very, VERY wet) day. Hard work doesn't really cover it. Next time..

Yeah, I'd go back. I think I'd check the forecast first, but I'd still go back. It might be a touch snaggy, but we can prepare for that next time.

You've just been got at by the Welsh contingent. Don't listen to him mate. Don't let him lull you into thinking it's not worth it. I mean, can any bloke with an alternate use for socks like that really be trusted. I rest my case.
