points and a big apologies to baggie

well tonight baggie and myself had planned a trip out again, we had crab for the smuts or squid for up the channel,

I had a shout from the taffy one that he really fancied the channel, and knowing i'm really on a thornie hunt I was up for it as well, but this meant unfortunately an earlier start ( so as too make low tide) than rich could make, so it was up the channel again with taff, wishing rich good luck with the smuts

sun was bakeing ( car stat showed 27.5* ) and my air cons broken as we headed slowly up the m5 with all the returning holiday traffic and caravanners, so the journey took ages

but soon at the spot and set up

bait was squid, squid and more squid

first action was too me, with a strap conger that i lost just before landing

then taff did his usual and bagged a cracking thornie at 8lb10

my rod was next to go and i got this strap in which we estimated at 6-7lb( and 1.5 points)

then taff had a conger about the same, and to fisnish i had a better conger at again an estimated 10lb( still not a confirmed first double fish though, why do they hate being weighed soo much) this fish was also camera shy and bit the trace and slitherered away before photo

left at 9.30 as pushed off by the water , still awaiting that elusive thornie( soon 1 will be mine ), temp gauge still showing 20* on way home, bet the sunburn will show properly tommorrow

a good session and apologies again to rich, my turn for the beers next

dave

Well done on the snakes Dave.
Have you inspected Taffs' squid to check he isn't stuffing it with something else .
That Rays gotta come soon.
