| well as you may guess by all the marks i've been fishing at the moment, i'm on one of my missions and thats to get a thornback ![]() i love ray fishing as think they are great looking fish and tactically challenging, but this year is starting to prove tough i have managed a few smalleyed this year ,but have now driven miles in search of a thornie, from salcombe to most way up bristol channel several times now last nights venue was agin up the channel ( on a school night), this time with mate Si( as baggies away) you can soon tell by the ankle breaking bolders where i was ![]() weather was heavy showers but the wind far less than last sun eve ![]() ![]() this time was again all out thornbacks so was big squid baits and 3/0 pennels first blood actually came to me with a suprise 2.5/3lb bull huss 1.5 points to us and def better to catch than a doggie![]() sorry naff photo as tried for scary fish look and didnt work ![]() Si then managed a dead dogfish and rig and weight so we cleared up the messthen we were treated to a cracking sunset, along with these marines?? in tiny helecopter you can just see, training with tracer bullets to a target just off shore ![]() I missed a cracking bite after getting snagged( 1 of 5 sets i lost last night )then Si did the buisiness and pulled in this lovely 4lb4oz thornie his first UK shore caught thornie , we were both chuffed ![]() so we fished on, both manageing to lose fish( dogfish???) gave up at 11 as water rushing in as usual for the channel, and home for soon after 12.30 ( not too bad a run then) a good night and target species hit, but still as yet not by me , i have seen quite a few caught by others now though ![]() ![]() next time ( again) ![]() dave __________________ www.exmouthsaa.co.uk 24 beers in a case and 24 hours in a day simples You won't know unless you go :D...and if you do go!! please let us know :D as thats how the forum thrives |
