Re: minehead help

not sure on minehead as never fished there
further up and down there are thornbacks and conger showing so guess they will be on cards, know the whiteing are still in channel as well

good luck

Re: minehead help

If you are fishing to the west of the harbour, I would use a pulley pennel with a big lump of fresh mackerel & lob it as far as I could. Only ever had doggies there myself off the beach, but have had rays & little conger from a boat about 400yds off.
Fishing to the east of the harbour on the sandy bit I would probably be troubled by holidaymakers, pack my kit & go to the bit above.
You could also try asking the person that invited you
Best of luck young 'un

going to blue anchor now, where ever that is

same qu as for minehead, although the forum suggests that rays with clipped pennels 4/0 are my best bet with mack n squid?what do you guys think

Re: minehead help

probably the two best places to fish is west of the harbour where theres been a few bull huss caught recently, i quite like just left of the lifeboat slip as its quite a smooth bottom and i have had a few flatties there, good for club points !!. and the congers use the rocks for cover, but the way the channels been fishing i would have a 3 hook clip down n chase the doggies as they seem to be the only consistant fish showing. the other place to fish is up by the golf course but if its an e or ne wind its nt a very friendly place to fish
