ooizzit is on a distinguished road
godrevey cove

hi all, fished godrevey cove with a mate last night, was a mission to get to, stomping through cow infested fields etc. got there 2 hrs before high water (21:15) fished 2 rods each, one in and one out, with running ledgers and pulley rigs. caught nothing, baits not even touched until an hr and a half after high tide (10:30 ish) when my mate caught 2 ls dogfish in 5 mins. bearing in mind i planned to leave 23 15 ish, we had action from then on. only caught doggies, which all fell to fish baits, so different species would have been nice! the final score was 5-4 to me but missed more. still, good fun though! got home 2 am!

ps any idea how to get past these bait robbing b*****ds?

Re: godrevey cove

Well done on catching Ooizzit....
Cows in fields, whatever next... people will be leaving horses & sheep lying around next.
Cannot help with the avoiding doggies bit, the only thing I have found they don't like is bare hooks.

Re: godrevey cove

There is seemingly no bait known to man that a doggie will not take with the sort of gusto that is normally reserved for a fat kid at a birthday party. You've just gotta wade through 'em and hope they have their fill soon enough.....

Sounds like a very enjoyable evening though.... Nice report...

Re: godrevey cove

well done on the fishing mate. at least it wasnt a blank. dogies eat anything and everything, just like those blasted scorpion fish.grrrr.... but there is no way of getting past them than to let them get stuffed and then they will not touch ur bait. well depends how many of them there are. or just take them home and eat them, they taste good.

regards

ollie

Re: godrevey cove

if hounds or ray move in the dogs move away for a bit i've found, other than that persevere, sounds a good trip though
