Watchet Harbour 11-05-09

Got up this morning at 3.20am to try my luck at Watchet harbour. Arrived at Watchet 4.50am and the weather was blowing a gale. After considering if it was fishable I braved the wind and set up me rod with a 2 hook clip down rig. Unfortunately not deciding to go until late yesterday evening I was limited on the bait front. All I had was really old Mackeral (3yrs old or so) and a box of squid. Within 20 minutes of my bait being out I had a bite, it was clear from the bite what it was. Soon after that I had another bite and managed to connect with this one. It was a doggie, I was happy because it meant I was not going to blank and I had fresh fish for tea. It was about an hour later until my next bite which was exactly the same and exactly the same outcome. Doggie number two. I gave it another hour after and decided that my face had taken enough of a beating by the wind and headed straight to a supermarket cafe for a good old fry up. All in all it was a nice morning and an amazing sunrise but blinking windy.
