| looes boat trip 2/5/09 well i woke up to a cracking morning and head down to the boat which was carrie jane (john renalds) as we steamed out of looe the fog desended and visability was about 100 yards at best . after a 30 min run we dropped straight in to loads of mackerel and launce and bait was sorted. ![]() another 30min steam put us 9 mile west of the eddystone and in went the pick. fishing started very slow , but the was next to no tide . after a hour the fog burnt off and my spining rod hooped over and after a 10min battel up came a small 15lb conger and i t-ed it off at the side, then everyone was in to some think. it was like a switch had been flicked on. mainly conger and pout came up them i had a good strong take as did the fella next to me . he then pulled in a 6lb ling and not long after i had its twin brother and a jumbo pout on the other hook . ![]() the day carried on like this till slack water came on and some d*** head metioned somethink iv never had fishing out from looe, and with in 1 2 3 up came this vermin on my spinning rod ![]() even the skipper said any more of that and we are moving...lol over slack water i also had few of our most colourful fish in our seas a cuckoo wrasse ![]() soon the tide started to move again but again it was very quite, i did try for a pollock for a bit but the just was not enough tide to get them feeding and soon it was time to head home days result was 10+ conger upto 25lb 3 ling 2x 6lb and 1 baby and loads of pout ,wrasse, mackerel and launce and not to forget the poxy doggie of which i ended up getting 3. was a cracking day out and i look forword to getting down there agin in a couple of months __________________ http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o...xt80382370.gif |
