Wrecker 21st feb - Gemini, Dartmouth

Hi All,

I fish with Blandford SAC and there are 3-4 places available on our next wrecker which is on Saturday 21st Feb with Dave Harrison, skipper of Gemini.

If we manage to get out (and it's a big if....) we'll be after pollack up around the 20lb mark.

A few of us on the forum fished with Dave a couple of years ago and one of the lads landed a 21lb fish. He's now got a bigger, better Cat. For those of you who are interested please just pm me. Here is his website below.

Chaps - we went out of Salcombe yesterday and the boats from Dartmouth were over our way - we visited 15 wrecks in total and every single one had netts over them - to say the charter skippers were a little unhappy was an understatement.

I hope by the time you go out that they will have been taken off but it took the piss yesterday - ruined the fishing for many people. Saying that - we had a good skipper and he managed to drop alongside a nett near the end and we ended up boating about 10 pollack and 2 ling between 7 of us with everyone catching so a good result.

Nets are a pain in the ass! I'm hoping the weather is a good this wk end as it as last wk end the fishing should be really good. Tides are a bit short but I'm hoping for a conger or nice ling.

Thanks for the info. I have sufficient skills to lose all my gear without the help of firking nets.

Still 2 places up for grabs and the weather looks like it just might hold out until Saturday

Would love to come out but unfortunately weekends are golddust for me and the family - have a little one year old and therefore weekends are all his and the mrs - Im sure that will change in years to come but for now charter trips are a mid week deal for me - good luck Saturday - Im out with Dave on Gemini on Mon 9th March.

Enjoy and hopefully a few doubles will show themselves.

Andy,

Currently full with 10 blokes all of which have never met - so should be a laugh. Kiwi is also on the reserve list - why dont we get out together on Gemini or another venue later in the summer about Aug / Sept and chase some bass or tope or something simular - would you be up for that - even if its mid week ?

Really got the bug to get out on the charters again - hopefully now Ive sorted the sea sickness !

Hi Tommy - No problem, let me know if anyone pulls out.

We managed to get out and although the first wreck had a net on top of it we found a good few wrecks wothout nets and there were a good number of pollack boated 50+ between us. Most fish were in the 7-10lb category with good few going 10-15lb. Great day, great skipper, great company and great fishing albeit with a great hangover... Here are a few pics from the day.
