| Blue Anchor 16/1/09 Morning All, A quick report in case anyone's thinking of the Bristol Channel. I went down to BA yesterday morning from about 8am until 11.45am. High tide was 10.15 and it was quite a good height. The weather was smashing, dry with a light wind over my shoulder. The fishing, on the other hand was still dire. By high tide I'd abandoned lug and squid cocktails on 3/0 pulleys and was down to size 6 flappers baited with tiny bits of squid. That resulted in 3 rockling (too small to really see how many beards they had) and two Whiting. There were only three other anglers on the wall and they didn't do any better. They said it had been grim for several weeks which matched my own experiences. Still it was good to get out and I avoided a blank. | Re: Blue Anchor 16/1/09 Thanks Rich. North coast was the plan for tonight's fishing, due to the fact our comp on Chesil got called off. Not so sure where to fish now..  Have bait and the urge, gotta do something.I can see a session of chasing lesser spotted hens tonight....  Good effort mate. You'll get 'em next time. __________________ Right then, checklist: Rods. | Re: Blue Anchor 16/1/09 was thinking of going that way in the week but heard its not fishing to well ,at least you never blanked may try one of the sandy beaches south of ilfracombe or barnstable __________________ obsessed is a word used by the lazy to describe the dedicated .. species hunt team winner 2005 and 2006..with old smoothy.. |
