Oh how I like to be on the seaside

With the France trip coming up next week and all my gear is neatly packed away, also in need of some point (thanks to that monkey racing his team well ahead now) I decided to meet up with a few friends (or in cuckoos case enemy lol) and have a try to get some sea species.

Going to fish the Gosport area hoping to catch anything really.
I borrowed a 14ft rod of my work mate to have a dabble with, to see if that might improve my casting a wee bit (I know I'm being funny here now lol).

Bait will be rag, mackerel, sandeel and maybe some peeler (that if I can scrounge some of the guys), sadly our tackle shop doesn't cater for sea bait.

The rod was great, a 14ft century 3-5oz, had no problem casting it....wish I could say about having no problem with the fish though

Sea was like a Mill pond, weed fest, had a couple of schoolies and the nuicence pout.

We fished from 8pm until 3.30am, highwater at around 11.30 pm.
Cuckoo had two good takes, lost one due to a line break and missed the other.

Nobody had anything of size

Sorry sis , twas a bad nights fishing , after fishing all night friday as well and catching one pup , thought it may fare for some better fishing at our new venue , but alas no good 2 nights fishing , 1 pup and 1 pout for me , missed 2 good hits on mackeral side , bugger , about 11 peops fishing , and claudia outfished us all , fair play to the determined lady lol , we were after bigger and better fish , just didnt happen .... great company and good fun , ....................thats all that matters

That's fishing for you lil brov...you can organize the meet, the venue but not the weather of fish.

I'll be out again once I'm back from France....still got a date with a few sea creatures

Told you. The above rod is an Century euro 14ft, there two moulds 3-5oz which is gerat for long rage float fish and macth fish double doggy do fight back. the 4-6oz mould is better for large baits and head wind. Used the 4-6ox mould to set by PB cast of 175meters. Both rod complete each orther well really need to find some were to get an re-build done.
