| Lilstock 11/8/8 had a mad rush of blood to the head yesterday and so ended up belting up the M5 with mate stu( as local guide) from the club up to Lilstock on the north coast, as south would be difficult with strong southerly wind also had heard of some strap conger and thornies from here recently and was hoping to catch my first ever of these   met stu at 6.30 ( he was supprised as i was ontime and hes used to Taffy time  )a good run up there saw us set up for 8pm( low neap tide at 8.40) conditions looked lovely this place is quite difficult to stand up on as is all huge bolders , and guess over high tide makes it a tackle graveyard well unfortunately the fishing was poor i had 1 bite which i lifted into and lost and that was it supprised with a neap tide just how fast you have to keep shifting back up the beach as tide turned, god knows what like on a spring  we fished on till 1 am when it started to rain steady  ( wow what a suprise lately )drove home in absolute torrential rain a good reconocence trip I will most definately be back soon  dave __________________ www.exmouthsaa.co.uk 24 beers in a case and 24 hours in a day simples You won't know unless you go :D...and if you do go!! please let us know :D as thats how the forum thrives Last edited by pingu; 08-12-2008 at 05:15 PM.     |
