bossington fri 25 july

well after scrounging the wifes car i manged to make this comp on fri
after delays on motorway etc manged to get there just in time for sign in

there were never going to be many at this comp ( ended up with 7) as there are lots of club members in ireland( me next year as well i hope) but it was more the chance to fish a new venue
fishing 8-1am high tide 23.20

walked out over the fields and then over the stone bank
conditions were lovely

looking west

and then east, the water rises really fast hear ( these were taken at 8 by 11.30 high we were fishing from the top here)

fishing was slow unfortunately, but the banter made up for that
Si who was fishing beside me managed an undersized strap conger than a just sizeable coddling ( in july!!)

were also treated to a cracking sunset

other fish caught in the night were dogs and rockling, I had a silver eel the size of a sandeel, best fish of the night was a smoothound of 6 1/2 lb just as we were packing up

and unfortunately i was the only one not to weigh in
but i'm sure i will return , but after throwing but into bed at 3,30 sat morning it may not be such a late night session again

dave
