Mountbatten Pier, Plymouth

I've not been to Mountbatten before but was pleasantly surprised at the free car park and access to the pier. Fished around high water using feathers, float and dexter wedge but only rewarded with one small pollack, other fisher folk reported pollack and wrasse. No sign of any mackerel!

Re: Mountbatten Pier, Plymouth

Just an update went this morning from 0530 until 0800. A bit windy but quite warm. Used feathers only and caught over 15 pollack but each about one fish fingers worth! Also caught my first mackerel of this year.

Fished half way down the pier to seaward, as the tide ebbed the sea defence rocks became exposed which does pose a possible snag hazard.

A couple of other people fishing for bass but I didn't see any fish landed.
