North Somerset mountain climbing!

Last Sunday saw myself, smelly hound, Mark Pete Kev and Tony head up to North Somerset for a bash after ray, we were to fish two marks, Selworthy and Brean, mainly because we could'nt find any other marks that involved more of a climb!
My first sight of the walk down to Selworthy resulted in new pants

Max thought this was delightful, and pounded up and down the slope like a lunatic, laughing at me dangling from a rope. The hard part, I later discovered, was picking my way across 60 yards of boulders to get to the wet stuff, I took this shot of the route there

Thats only half of it. But the other half back to the car is'nt too bad, not being designed to kill you etc. We all set up and fired out various fish baits, Tony had a doggy, which I put back four times, Max kept retrieving it!

Thats him looking for it.
Then Tony scored again with a beautiful little ray

After that one was returned, the others had a few dogs, and Max got progressively damper

Thats for Twiddler!
It then rained, and the wind got up, and I found, that without any feeling in my hands, I could'nt fish effectively any more, so I gave it best, must take gloves next time.
On the death, Mark had this, which made the trip for me, as I love Turbot, no matter what size, and I amused myself watching it bury itself in the sand, when we slipped it into a pool to await the (rapidly) incoming tide.

A haul back across the rocks, up the cliff and a yomp back to the car and we were off to be faced by this

But thats another story....actually no it is'nt, we caught sod all.
But i'm now an authority on climbing! All said and done I had a good blank, and slept the sleep of the knackered, so did Max, still try again soon, and I'll let you know.

Respect...I would have turned on my heel and headed straight back if I would have seen THAT climb

And my lovely Max looks like he had great fun, bless him, hope he hasn't caught a cold though

Thumbs up Re: North Somerset mountain climbing!

Top report Ian & great pics as ever. Glad you had some fish to show for all that effort. I keep meaning to pay another trip to Brean Down myself, but seeing that last pic reminds me why I keep putting it off LOL
