Evening Ray

Went up to a Ray mark with Mark and Pete, (and not forgetting the ubiquitous hound!) in the hope of a few early Thornies, after a punishing walk, well punishing for me anyway, then again most things that are more then 20 feet away from the car are, we arrived on the rock ledge we'd be fishing from,

As you can see, Mark initially decided to try a big bait, but thought he might stress his Ultralights!

a short wait for the tide to come in and we all fired out a mixture of baits, I had a sprat on one, and a bunch of sandeel on the other. After a while the sprat baited rod signalled a take and a good little tussle resulted in this:-

10lb 5oz, and a pb for me, so well pleased with that. And Mark did a stirling job landing it, up and down the rocks like a mountain goat!
A little while later it was my turn to do the rock climbing when Marks sprat and squid cocktail was snarfed by this cracker:-

8lb on the nose and sadly the last fish we had, but a good trip anyway, both fish went back nicely as well, which made it all the better.

Cracking brace of Ray there Guys. Obviously they have been taking the pills that make you larger & not the ones that mother gives you.... Keep chasing the rabbits... LOL Am I right in thinking thats Brean Down?
