| Blue Anchor 10/2/08 Just a quick report to confirm that the Bristol Channel is still dire. Mrs L got up at silly o'clock to ride in a Dressage competition so I decided to give BA a try despite the fog and frost. I should have stayed in bed! Along with about 15 others I fished the wall between the toilets and the first set of steps. Started about 7.30am and packed up at 11am. Desperate measures had me finishing on size 4 carp hooks and tiny bits of squid. I finally caught a small Pout. The chap next to me had one as well but those were the only fish we saw caught. It was one of the bigger tides but even that didn't seem to help. Perhaps there's still too much freshwater coming down the Channel but I'm not really sure if that makes a difference. It was a lovely morning once the sun got up and at least I didn't blank so things could have been worse.
