Town Quay mini species hunt meet

A few of us decided to have a mini meet at Town Quay for a species hunt.
I was the first to arrived about 6.10pm. soon followed by Lee aka cuckoo, young Dan and Scotty, followed my Allan, then Eddie and Lewis, later followed my Paul.

I had 3 rods out, one boat rod with a running ledger for the life bait dropped straight down of the hedge of the quay, another one with running ledger with a whole mackerel about 15 yrds out, third rod with one up one down, rag and squid, 20 yrds out.

Not much to report on the fish side, pouting whiting and more pouting and whiting for me, Lee and one of the others (can't remember who) managed a couple of schoolies.

Lee had the tail of his life bait bitten off, that's as close as it got to get some decent size off bass.

The wind was blowing a huli and we decided at 4am to call it a day.

Not the greatest of catch but at lease 3points for my species hunt and a night spent in great company.

pout

whiting

I'm hoping to get out again soon for another chase of the elusive bass.

Well done partner

These strange salt water type thingies are very valuable, keep up the good work!

I should have been out this afternoon to add a few more points but I was hijacked by my Son and Grandson!

Don't want to worry you but my last three trips = three blanks! Very high quality blanks mind you

Trying to find some Barbel, the weather is perfect but I'm having problems finding the river banks

Not a good time for river fishing wherever you go but I have no doubt in your abilities.....speak to Dicky, as we have arranged to fish Sabrina either the 1st or the 8th March.....I'm sure he wouldn't mind the slightest you joining us.

Send him a PM though as we don't want it to be another open fish in
