Sunday trip South East Cornwall

Hi Guys, just a quick report to let you know about a trip down to South East Cornwall this weekend just gone, primarily to visit my parents, but with a healthy dose of fishing thrown in, (!) Eventually found the mark I was looking for, no mean feat after 15-20 years! And then discovered that it was a lot further and steeper than I remember, though not too bad ,and i walked down the cliff to see a mark i have'nt seen in a long time.

It was taken round about low water, and the first thing that occurred was Max heading toward the water at breakneck speed, across the rocks to cool off

After retrieving errant hound i set up a light beach rod, fixed spool and braid, and a spinning rod, whacked a crab on the bait rod and put it out 60yds ish, then commenced spinning for mackkies and gars, which, apart from one hit, which could have been a gar, did'nt happen, so i rigged up a single hook paternoster with lug, which resulted in a small wrasse, second chuck gave a bite which i hit, and snagged me fast, so i left it for 10 minutes, went back and finally after a good fight, landed a wrasse about 2 and a half pounds.

After a couple of bait changes the crab bait, (on size 6 drennan boilie hooks,)
took off, lifting the rod butt off the floor, a quick lunge and grab secured the rod and i brought in a beautiful little bream, which fought well, feeling three times it's size,

I've since been told it's a Couch's Bream, don't care really, i was happy enough to just catch and return it. Last fish of the day was a hand sized Black Bream, which i did'nt worry about photographing, but just slipped him back, Also had a couple of Bass follow a yo zuri plug back in.

And just 'cos it would'nt be the same without him,....

Till next time, be lucky.
