Trigger Fishing

Hi all,
Quick report on todays activities, went to North Devon after the exotic trigger fish, with Mark and friend Pete and not forgetting faithful (ha!) hound, got there before low and walked out to the mark, which was, a bloody long way, a quick scramble/fall down the cliff and set up facing deepish water and mixed ground, i started my card with a couple of wrasse both around the pound mark, so far so good, then Pete hit the target species with this stunner

A cracking start and a beautiful fish, and we all re cast with renewed vigour.
Max during all this was having a rest

there will be more of him later, just for Twiddler!! Mark and Pete both took a succession of triggers with Pete having four in total, and Mark taking three, to three pounds exactly, I however could'nt buy a bite on the bottom rods and resorted to light tackle fishing for mackerel, which took every chuck, only small fish but fun on a 12 ft match rod.

As the tide started to flood i finally got the bite i'd been waiting for, and after being skillfully landed dropped and retrieved by Mark, i had what i went for, going two pounds twelve ounces

Chuffed was'nt the word, even the dog woke up

Ok last one of him, after the exertion, using Pete's rucksack as a pillow, this is really a fishing forum, not a dog appreciation site!!

Anyway, a few missed bites and the sea state started to increase

So we went up the bloody cliff, and made our way back to the car. Must carry less!!
