Looe Boat Fishing (Cornwall)

had a 2 week holiday in cornwall where we organised too go mackerel bashing for 2 hours we saw loads of mackerel going under the boat and jumping everywhere someone behind where i was fishing caught 2 pollack and mackerel and lots of people where foul hooking pilchards including me....

and my mum had some too, i had 2 mackerel and 1 pilchard my mum had 3 pilchards and 2 mackerel. wasnt a realy good day but it was good fun. till a few days went on and out of nowhere my mum organised too go reef fishing for 5 hours , including my brother and dad too... so we went out it took 55mins too get out where the skipper wanted i looked on the fish finder and it was 120 metres deep. someone caught a ling i would say about 3-4lb after a few hours no one had another fish the skipper changed my bait too a whole cuttlefish and mackerel left it down there for about an hour nipped off to the toilet came back reeled in my rod and it felt like there was a fish on. i could feel the head shakes till someone said "i have caught up on someone", then everyone said they where caught up on someone... yep, me lol.

this conger must of been on for a long time tangling around everyones line, the thing almost took me in at one stage after cutting lots of line up we got the conger on board...

he estimated it around 20-25lb, a new pb for me.. my brother said he felt somthing and he had a dogfish (his first ever fish) , i felt somthing heavy too and had another dog fish.

my mum even caught a scad, very good day and cant wait too get out on a boat again.

dan.
