Sharkham

Hi guys,

Just a short one, nipped down to sharkham point yesterday, (17 7), never been there before, but i wanted to try out the new toys! Got myself a couple of bze 12'6 3-5's, so after walking most of the headland, trying to get down to the sea! I dropped down on the left hand side, put a light float rod out and had a small pollack, then lost a fish, it would've been a wrasse, then a few more bites and lost leads, so i put out a bit further, and had a doggie, very dark fish, also had a mackerel, which i put out live under a float, lost that, and the float! Think i would have been better off fishing a different part of the tide, i was there from 11-3pm, which got me away just in time to get hung up in the bloody traffic! Still, never mind, at least i managed to avoid the dreaded blank!

They were'nt bad mate, nice action, not too stiff, and a cheaper alternative to century ultra-lites! they'll still lob a 5oz, but felt better with 4, at least you can feel it when you've got a fish on! I used them with shimano 4500b sea spins, but multipliers would be just as good, i'll get a couple of 6500 hi speeds to go with them later.
Tried out a shakespeare in2 12ft match rod for light sportfishing, gars mackerel etc, awesome bit of kit for 25 quid, with 6lb line, bit of fun though.
