where to fish? Bristol Channel

Hi,

Its my first time leaving a message on the site. Im hoping someone will be able to help me with some advise. I usually fish with "The Boss" at blue anchor but I am thinking of a change in venue. I was wondering if anyone could advise me on a new venue on the bristol channel.
Thanks for taking your time to read this.

Re: where to fish? Bristol Channel

You could try ladybay in clevedon for bass, congers, thornbacks and some sole if they are about yey
portishead anywhere along will/find you the fish
aust to littleton (by the severn bridge)will find you eels, bass, flounders, dabs
brean bown/sand point for the rays, congers
brean beach 1st point for flounders, eels, bass, congers.
This should help you out some what.
why fish the bristol channel?
why not fish brixham breakwater for mullet, scad, garfish.wrasse, bream, and the mackerel in daylight.Night time falls fish the breakwater about half way down with a whole macky flapper on cast out 20 yrds for the big congers that live there.
or sillery sands lynmouth for everything rays all kinds, bass, pouting, congers, tope, flounders, turbot,b rill etc
hope this helps you out

Re: where to fish? Bristol Channel

cheers howie, some top suggestions there for ''the machine'' and i.
we are are not limited to the bristol channel, its just closer to home(and as we both have two kids, its a quicker days fishing! i'm sure everyone with wives or girlfriends knows what i mean! ).
we are very keen to do a night session at brixham breakwater soon, sounds ace. if theres any more nuggets of info about brixham(or anywhere else) that would be great.thanks again
