Cool sharkham report

picked kiwi up and headed down to sharkham for 2-30 ish , well i think it was cos neither of us had a watch and we both left our mobiles behind too (doh) loaded with rag ,crab, mackie and sandeel .first fish was a horrible weaver which was behaeded and body kept for bait , not sure if kiwi had set his rods up at this time (he likes to do his pre fishing haka)

i started to mess about with small hooks and rag and was catching lots of mini species ie wrasse, bullheads and blennys(two at a time) while kiwi was float fishing sandeel looking for bass but kept bringing in mackeral after mackeral.

i had one rod on the bottom with mackeral which wasnt doing much then got a rattle only to bring in a bull huss of about 2.5lb

a seal then decided to pop its head up and the fishing went quiet for a while and we watched a bird chasing small fish to the surface which then decided to jump out the water and keep kiwi company for 20 min.

by now the tide looked to be at its highest so now tried plugging for bass ,tried tobys, dexter and rapalas but just couldnt get through the mackeral ,was even catching mackie 5 feet out but a great day and we managed to miss the rain which we could see over exmouth way

all together i think we managed about 8 species and a great afternoon in sunny devon

Re: sharkham report

Sounds like you guys had a great sess....despite all the mackie.

Those rocks look a little dodgy, hope you were wearing some kind of safety ropes

Re: sharkham report

It was a good time Richard. The strange but good thing for us was to watch the rain fall all around us but staying completely dry. But they do say the sun always shines on the righteous!!!!

If those rocks look iffy to you, ya don’t wanna see the trek down!! SmallFry doesn’t mind it though!

I would like to add another photo or two just out of interest. Thanks for the picture Kev of me with that Bird. (Some one tell me what it was) It stayed with me preening for a good twenty minutes, just three feet away.

Dramatic:

Twiddler. This is hairy:

A good day.

Kiwi.
