Burnham-on-sea area next weekend.

Anyone got any
info on this area?

I'll be only taking my beachcasting gear this time as I doubt I'll get more than one session in as , yet again, it's a family holiday.

Cheers folks.

No need to worry about fish stocks getting depleted with me around.

lower light sounds good for thornbacks and conger this time of year but only fished 2 hours down and 2 hours up it gets a bit muddy at times though you will need a pair of weelys

Re: Burnham-on-sea area next weekend.

Well, true to my name I blanked.

Fished a morning high tide (approx 9.45). About one hour before and two out. First on the shore itself then moving to the Brue estuary when the tide was going out. Used rag tipped with mackerel on a three hook rig (1/0 and two 2's). Cast about 50 yards out and had possibly one bite. After a little while started varying the length of the cast a bit. Some close in some further out.
No wind, no waves. Overcast sky, relatively warm.

Lessons ?

Sometimes, they just don't want to know.

Didn't experiment with whacky baits this time, just fished conventionally and it just didn't happen.

That's it, I'm giving this stupid game up.

Or maybe I'll just go one more time (now I think I've heard that before....)

Re: Burnham-on-sea area next weekend.

If your in that area the best fishing would be off clevedon peir or even better just up from there Ladye bay (only about 40 mins away from burnham), where you could still be catching cod.
