i fish brean down quite regulary.not a place for the inexperianced,it involves a very long walk, and is very snaggy in places.but the fishing can be very good.species include cod, conger, thornies, bass, whiting.i find the best time from autum till january.ive had conger to 18lb,cod to 8lb and thornies to just under double figures.pulley rigs and squid mackerel and rag are the way i go down there.hope this helps

Re: blue ancher

thanks for your welcomes and replys.
i had heard that brean down was a good place to fish if you know what your doing.
is it worth a pop at this time of year?
its gotta be better than brean beach. i did that a month ago and it was a total waste of time, we did however manage to collect our own lug and crabs which was a bonus!
cheers

Re: blue ancher

hey boss on big low tides you can dig rag at blue anchor!! woody bay ,watermouth castle, bossington & to the left of minehead harbour can all produce good fish but bossington can be very snaggy unless you fish on the eastern end by the cliffs
