| Re: where to fish wed night north coast somerset I fish Blue Anchor quite a lot Dave. Geejayy understates it a bit when he says the wall is not a low water venue. Once the tide turns it goes out quite quickly and at low water can be half a mile away!! I normally reckon on 2 hours each side of HT from the wall. I've not been down for a couple of weeks but there have been a few "strap" conger, doggies and very small whiting taken whilst I've been there. Mostly on fish or squid baits, I think. My last visit was very quiet which is why I've given it a rest. If you do go to Blue Anchor it might be worth trying the beach behind the Chalets at the Minehead end of the front rather than the wall itself. If you do fish from the wall, you'll notice two markers in the sea towards the Watchet end (near the toilets). These markers indicate a lot of rocks at the foot of the wall and they would make landing a large fish rather tricky. Sadly, Wednesday night is our last Skittles match of the season or I would love to join you. Hope this is of some help. __________________ Rich "If a thing's worth doing it's worth doing to excess!" |
