| Blue Anchor Thursday and Friday 22 & 23 March Another quick report. Fished a couple of hours each side of high tide on both Thursday and Friday morning. Over the course of the two mornings I tried Pulleys with 1/0 hooks and 2 hook flappers with size 4 and 6 hooks. Bait was Rag, Squid and cocktails of both. Very little interest in worm baits. One Whiting on Thursday morning to the size 6 flapper rig and a tiny piece of Squid. One Dogfish on Friday morning to a whole Squid on the pulley rig. There were several other anglers fishing both mornings, some in front of the chalets at the Minehead end, and the rest with me off the wall. I couldn't see what, if anything, came in from the chalets but I did see two small Conger, a couple of Dogfish and Pout or Whiting to other anglers off the wall. Several people told me about the anticipated "Spring run" of Cod but no sign of it whilst I was about. I might give it another go tomorrow morning as it may be the last chance I'll get for a couple of weeks. I'l let you know how I get on if I go. __________________ Rich "If a thing's worth doing it's worth doing to excess!" |
