Question any mackys around

hi guys i'm thinking of going fishing gosport portsmouth lee on solent area havent been fishing in years wondered if any mackeral about or what else to concentrate on or whats the best bait i should be using at the moment any help would be great want to get back into fishing a bit more cheers guys lee.f100 ;)

Welcome to the forum Lee.
There has been mackys about but this blow might have knocked that on the head for a while at least.
Think the main target at the moment is bass,hasler wall over your side may be worth a go,while over this side anywhere from old pompey through to eastney could thow up a bass or 2 if you put the time in.
If its lots of fish your after then southsea pier is alive with small bream at the mo and you never know you may get the odd keeper.

hi mate the mackrel are a bit thin on the ground of late around the island
me mates got a charter boat preditor out of bembridge hand does trips after them and he said theres not many around even around the forts!!!!
we get a few around sandown pier on spinners and float fishing in the evenings just enough for a few for the freezer
