Hello all

Well i have decided to start sea fishing, i cant believe the amount of stuff there is in tackle shops to buy.

i did have a little stint at freshwater fishing but it didnt last long as its really not my cup of tea, rather have the chance of eating what i catch.

anyway i was wandering if some one could point out some stuff that i will need i.e a decent but not expensive rod and reel ect and tackle.

as i said i am on a tight budget but will be able to upgrade stuff as i go, im looking into more beach fishing as i think it will suit me better.

also im in thornhill southampton if anyone knows of any good spots around that i can go to

atb

Re: Hello all

Welcome to the forum fella .. 100 squid will get you a decent 13ft beachcaster and fixed spool reel ..
you will also need a tripod to hold the rod but the rest of the gear you can gather when you have the cash ..
Town Quay is a good starter venue and is beginning to fish well now for mackerel, bass and sole ..
If you need any advice on marks theres loads of us who fish the area week in week out ..
try 'go outdoors' near milbrook for a cheap sea fishing rod and reel combo - a damn site cheaper than somewhere like Poingdestres !
