Re: what's town quay like to fish at low water

the bass on live pout tend to come on the ebb as do most of the other fish ..during daylight - forget it .
High water slack is dead apart from whiting stripping every bait.
use rag and squid for a pout fest and mackerel or bluey for bigger whiting.dogs on sandeeel .

Sometimes fishes better over low if you have a neap tide mate , funny enough we have had more bass hits on livebait over low in the last 2 weeks

Best advice would to to look at the amount of threads we have done on T.Q in the last 6 months and digest the important bits
lots of whiting and pout about plus the chance of a bass over the side on livebait..
peeler might mean you hit lucky with a codling - or unlucky with a snotty eel
Steve

Re: what's town quay like to fish at low water

I was hoping someone would mention a codling as ive heard about the odd one being caught including the 8lb one..thanks for your reply, if i do get a few small whiting then i will probably use them as livebait for a bass as i seem to of struck lucky this year for bass, ive managed to catch one every time ive been fishing including a six pounder on a lure from woolston jetty casting into the shore, once again thanks for replying, oh by the way tomorrow is my last fishing trip as a single man because im getting married on saturday.....jeffro.
