I'm with Browners on this - Pulley or Bomber rigs are good Cod rigs - The only downside to an up n over is if it hasnt released properly your bait has sat there for 20 minutes being plucked at by smaller fish ..I think they are also more aimed at getting a bait hard on the bottom for flatfish such as Rays .. will see if i can upload a pic of one of my bombers or pulley rigs ![]() __________________ Shore Species 2012: Dab-Flounder-Herring-L.S.Dogfish-Pouting-Shore Rockling-5 Bearded Rockling-Small Eyed Ray-Turbot-Whiting Last edited by scottish_and_mental; 10-05-2010 at 10:28 AM.

Re: will this do for cod I have found a hook down bolt rig or fixed lead with a short hooklength 6 in the most effective way to catch cod on big baits from chesil. The most important thing is to cast and retrieve the lead slowly to find the bare ground between the shingle. It can be as close in as 20 yards. At Abbotsbury you need to find the gullies usually 80 yds or so. Good luck.

Re: will this do for cod Right ok thank. Just looked at the weather and it dry but a 32 to 33 mph wind coming from the east is it still ok to fish there.
