There are fish at Eastney from March 10 - April 9.

Here's one I prepared earlier ....

It was returned, despite the offer of a tenner!

Sometimes, I just lose the 'plot'!

Re: eastney beach sat night

I have to disagree about Eastney I fished there Thursday-Friday 23rd-24th Sept with a mate and the catch was as follows; 1 Bass (5lb), 2 flounders about a pound each, dozen or so school bass untold small black bream a Red Gurnard about a pound and a Red Mullet. The guys next to us had some small Smuts as well as small Bass and Bream. Not brilliant maybe but it certainly kept us busy.

Sounds Cracking Session Flen, I can't remember when that wind went around to the north and it turned so cold over night, out of interest, what was the main bait taking fish?
We had quite a selection, from looking at the web it does look though your area fishes better too on the whole.

Re: eastney beach sat night

Gremlins the local expert I am just a guy whose started sea fishing again after 10 or so years and am just fishing these marks for the 1st time.

Anyway Back to your Question About Bait.

The Bass was caught on large rag ( a couple of 10" worms on a size 2/0 long shank) most the other stuff was also caught on Rag or Rag/Squid cocktails .

We tried whole Squid Mackerel Fillet and flappers close / medium as well but not much interest was shown bye any larger fish.
