| Brushing off the winter cobwebs Hi there, I've been watching progress on the forum and decided to give Worthing Pier another go. I've visited twice and other than tiny whiting have not done much to date. Tomorrow, Thursday I'll be there from 11am to 2pm - I use a 'crumblies' bus pass from Crawley. I'm hoping for some mackarel to boost my tins of sardines. Interestingly I used to bait dig in the Dee estuary mud for years with two others. We all had heart attacks later in life but what the heck you are only here once. It's being cheerful that keeps you going. ![]() |

| Re: Brushing off the winter cobwebs Well just got back from Worthing Pier without a bite personally. About 20 anglers on the pier, I fished the west side and did not see anyone get a bite. On the east side there was the odd garfish and rockling but nothing else, certainly no mackarel. I fished the an hour before the top and one and a half hours down. The lower section of the pier is unavailable due to, it appears, permanent maintenance. Things still appear quiet. ![]() |
