| Re: Selsey / Pagham Both the main beaches at Selsey have been naff due to 3 reasons mate....lack of anglers due to duff weather - the duff weather/big seas and loads of weed . i know from posts here that some nice fish have been caught from the pagham area so i think its just a case of putting in the hours or being in the right spot at the right time.. I'm sure one of the more local boys on here will point you in the right direction . Steve __________________ Shore Species 2012: Bugger All !! |

| Re: Selsey / Pagham All a question of seasonal timing and then waiting for the optimum tides/conditions. if I was to choose a time NOT to fish either of these venues it would be Jan & Feb. What are you going to catch? Rockling and schoolies; odd rare flounder perhaps? Wait for April for bream at Pagham and Selsey E Beach; then smoothies from May - September. Good bass from E beach on warm summer nights. This is something I did relating to boat fishing in the area, but much applies to shore venues in W Sussex/Hants as well - Of course you will get the odd late/early fish, but play the percentages and you'll catch more and better fish. Your best bet will be to wait for calm, clear conditions in mid Feb and then try for early plaice at Hayling/Eastney/Stokes Bay. Good luck. |
