Try Hayling Island beaches Portsmouth harbour or anywhere along Southampton water....depends how far your willing to travel i guess.

A good idea is to troll through the catch reports on here or look in sea angler mag or angling times and try a punt at somewhere you fancy or look where matches are being held as this usually indicates a half decent tide and venue and either fish in a gap or fish the day before or after.

Out of interest i fished chesil cove a cuople of weeks ago and was astonished to see a bright green light appear from the water about a 100 yards to my right..Out pops this guy with scuba gear on and 5 of the biggest plaice ive ever seen that he'd speared 200 yards out on one of the sand patches.
He informed me there were shed loads of allsorts out there and i didnt know wether to laugh/cry or mug him

Re: Where to fish in Portsmouth

thanks mate, appriciate it. normally fish in the camber, Portsmouth.

unbelivably a conga was caught in there the other day, around 4ft....but the bloke was unable to reel it up, as it was low water!

Might have to try pompey harbour though.!

PS i would of mugged him! only messing!

Re: Where to fish in Portsmouth

Might help ....

I've lost the Pompey one I wrote, but I have all the original pics and Word Docs; so I'll scramble something together if you want it.

I do apologise they may be 5 years old and don't seem to mention the 'smutty stuff' much!!!!

Re: Where to fish in Portsmouth

I managed to cobble this together from internet archive stuff. Not comprehensive, but ideas for someone looking for a Pompey/Southsea mark -
