My mother in law lives in Portsmouth (Hilsea). So when my missus wants to go down and see her I want to go fishing. Any pointers. I've notices huge marshes and inlets near. Does anyone knoiw if its any good to fish.

Hello mate i also live in hilsea,those mud flats youve seen get a lot of scoolies on them in summer ,this time of year theres only flounders about,mind you you can bag up on them, sometimes.

yeah, apparently there are some brilient places about for flounders, im thinking of trying the salt marshes near me next weekend with some rag

iam from havant area myself and i jump on ferry to gosport and go from
the pier or stokes bay and lee-on solent near hovercraft museuim always had good night fishing there

i had some smoothies about month ago from hassler wall and had a nice 5lb bass from gosport pier last week end

im from southampton .......... POMPIE SCUM ! POMPIE SCUM ! southampton is a nice place to fish ( in hamble ) but ive never tried to fish in portsmouth

I m from E Yorks but now live down here for my sins.
I m afraid pompey scum etc means nothing to me,i just have to put up with rude people down here and terrible fish and chips

yer i fish hamble for mullet in summer :)

. today i was just fishing for mullet .. i saw a huge one , but i didnt get it .. hamble is a nice place . say , do you fish of the phontoon ? because i go down their literally every day ( i live in hamble )
