Hayling 4/5-01-07

Just got back from a sess at Hayling so i ll do a quick report whilst the pro plus are still working.
Started fishing about 2030,one rod fished rag/blacks and squid the other in close with slipper.
First cast and the worm rod produced a Bass and a dab, kept the dab as i love them to eat but the bass went back.
Things carried on pretty well untill about 2 hours before high water when it went dead.
I thought that was the end of the fishing but after about an hour of nothing they started bighting again
Had a few double shots of bass and pout and another couple of dabs ,one of them a real cracker (welll as far as dabs go )
Anyway finished the sess at 0130 and the fish were still bighting.
Most succesfull rigs were three hook clipped down and pompey rig all with size 4 hooks.
Slipper worked but it only seems to catch Bass, worm tipped with squid belted out was deff the best method.
Finished with 13 bass-4 pout-3 dabs 1 flounder
Very enjoyable evening and only one other fisherman on the whole beach.
cheers, john

Flipping heck mate, top session! I wouldn't have wanted to come away...

Well done mate!

Don't suppose you could do a bit of a write up on the mark when you've got time could ya? I'd love to see the type of terrain / beach where you're catching all these bass!

Yep will do Rich .
I would have taken pics lastnight but my batterys were dead, the beach itself is nothing special.
May be going tomorrow morning so i ll get pics and do a write up if i do.
Solent Fishing GuideSearch the above link and look for beaches-hayling-inn on the beach.

Cool, cheers mate. I'll look forward to it.

I had a quick look on the google map link on that web site, and it doesn't look THAT different to some of our beaches. SO WHERE ARE THE BASS DOWN HERE THEN???!?!?

I think with the first proper cold spell we ll see them clear off.
To be honest they are a bit of a pain in the arse as most are only about 1 lb and are hammering baits intended for other fish.
I m not complaining though
As to why there still here? Loads of slipper on the beach water temps still up???
