sun shines on the righteous?

So what have i done wrong lately then?
get my first evening off in a fortnight(weather has been spot on lately down here) so gear up for first proper fish in ages
missus late home from work so didnt leave home til 7 so decided to hit nearest beach at budliegh.
wind from south and west, warmish but looking stormy away to east
set up rods quickly get a clonking bite to find smalish mackeral on end swallowed whole med sandeel. then the wind changes swings to east gets dark and then the rain starts, weed also comes in with vengance
then heavens really open, and spirits dropped so back home and as already wet may head to pub in 5,
also working for next 2 week solid again so no fishing again.
oh well at least didnt blank totally

Re: sun shines on the righteous?

Well as you said at least you did not blank ( is that code for not staying in with your misses )

The weather is poor all over but just think in two weeks you will be back out there

Re: sun shines on the righteous?

sorry richard its not a code(but sounds like could be in future)
the thunder and lightning struck bit later so guess good job off beach!!!!!!!
was geared for rain last night (and can usually stand it out)but it was horizontal and I can never cope with high winds
hangover just subsiding now so all improving ?

Re: sun shines on the righteous?

Brixham breakwater car park charges £7 for 4 or more hours.

I didn't know I'd need a mortgage to go fishing :)
