Re: goring gap tonight!

Good to see a few flounders turning up even if they are smallish. Goring is always good for eels and has plenty of dogfish in spring time. A few nice sized bass are caught every year and this year within a mile of here a lot of stingrays were caught up to 25lb. Only problem with this venue is seaweed

Re: goring gap tonight!

Fished Goring today - caught 14 small bass on lugworms. Mate had 2 small bass and 2 flounders. A lot of stringy weed inclose so you had to chuck it and keep your rod up high.

Re: goring gap tonight!

The stringy weed was only a problem as the tide was still reasonably big - 6.1m. Once the tide started moving the weed moved as well and would cling to your line and break the lead out. When no tide was running weed stayed still on surface. Was no weed on bottom covering the rig or snoods. This weekend weed shouldnt be a problem as tides are very small. May give it ago over weekend down there again.

Although the bass were all generally smallish they still give a good knock on the tip and fight well
