Re: goring gap tonight!

cheers for all the messages of good luck lads!
not a great deal to tell realy.
got down ther to a nice clear sky and big old moon
water flat as a pancake!
tackled my bass rod up with 2/0-4/0 pennel pulley rig
this i baited up with a whole mackrel flank rolled into a sousage
with bait elastic! the other rod i had a 2 hook flapper
this i loaded up with some stinky black lug
that had been refrozen about 3 times so was propper sticky!
any way gave that one a welley out on to the sand flats in the hope of
a nice sole or plaice for supper! and the bass rod i fished down the side
of a rocky break water! opened up my bottle of chiraz and kicked back!
to cut a long and fairly unaventful story short missed an absolute lunking bite
on the bass rod (taking a waz turned round to see the rod almost bent double
and ping back ;-[) and lost another in the surf that one looked only about 2lb max oh well atleast ther about!!!!
loads of flatty going to the scratching rod followed by a procession of
boot lace eels as the tide receaded, that wher constantly making a mess of me and trashing my rigs so at about 11,30 i called it a night!

Talking Re: goring gap tonight!

Unlucky mate, better luck next time. On the subject of taking a Waz whilst fishing. I once went fishing on the Bristol Avon near to a railway bridge. Set up my quivertip, then turned around to water the bushes. Looked back to see my rod about to disappear in the river. Managed to grab the rod, kick over a box of maggots & soak my trousers in the process & found myself playing a very large fish with my privates hanging out. All was going well until a very slow & very crowded London commuter train decided to chug past. Gave the passengers something to talk about at work though..... Oh & I landed the fish, a perch that was just short of 3lb
