Crippled @ Crackington Haven

Well today had a good long pass as was off to meet Rob up on the north coast(as hes on hols here) so left at 9 and headed off through the occasional mist and fog & picked him up from just outside bude at 10.30 and headed off to a beutifull spot just west of Bude called Crackington Haven

as Rob had a full pass as well we planned to fish down the tide (low 2pm)and then up till high at 8pm

Now the sun came out and we were greeted by a nearly empty beach and great surf



Funny all pics i took didnt show surf well but was rgulary 2-3 foot and georgeous

but as there was a few bodyboarders in water we headed left over the rocks

stopping to spin and plug for a bit over these cracking looking gulleys







after the tide dropped a bit more Rob led the way over these jagedy old rocks(not easy when you are built like the atheletes that we arent ;-0 and carying all the gear)



and we made the deserted beach left of these rocky outcrops
and set up the rods

just several views of the beach and bay






I have to say this is probably the most beautifull place that i have ever fished and just screamed Bass,

The tide was still dropping fast and so we chilled and waited for the flood to start

The plan now was to wait on this beach for the first few hours of the flood before having to return to main beach

but Rob had damaged his ankle as we came over the rocks earlier and was now in some real pain
so desicions were made to pack up and take a slow walk/stumble over the rocks and back
this place may be screaming fish but safety came first
:- note also there is diddly signal on mobiles on this beach and on the side we were fishing only route in and out was over this rock ridge so this desicion was easily made

we both had a great day despite robs injury and both of our lack of fish(still did report as hope pics will help others that may go here)

now sitting here I have a good suntan and earned some points by getting in early [for a trip out tommorrow night(as have loads of bait left )]

Was great to meet Rob and his family again, glad to see you so well(ok despite foot) and look forward to another meet in October I hope

and I may just have to sneak another trip up the northcoast as this was just a fantastic place
