Talking Chasing the Ray-nbow

well after weather looking decidedly iffey(I:e thunderstorms which we kindly sent Gulleys way) headed off to Sidmouth to meet others for a night hunting Ray

luckily missus got home early so packed the pies

and managed to get there for 7ish, see a nice swell and good dirty water looksgreat
to meet Phill ang Geejay who greeted us by pulling in his 2nd ray of the day

this was going to be good
Baggy arrives and the gang are all here like the 3 muskateers +Dartanian

then Phill gets a bite and also 1 1/2 points for us with a red gurnard(sorry is a bad photo camera sha**ed)

then as we are all looking at this great double rainbow Phills rod goes again and hes into something better

to bring in this nice 3lb ray(phills first)

things quieten down a bit with geejay getting a makkie and me a very fat doggie(no pikkies)
I then get a ray of abot 2 1/2 lb

by now we are all desperately praying for baggie to break his run of blanks
(especially as he loses a goodfish on his scrappy old rod)which at last he does with a pout
but i didnt want to give you that picture,

so he then procedes to get a doggie
but again i didnt want to give you that photo

geejay getsa slimey old eel, lucky geejay

then at last as has been quiet for about last hour Baggies good rod twitches then dips and game on
at last the right photo for Rich a cracking ray of 4lb12

His first and a new forum record

then soon after Phills in again with what first looked like a fish to beat the very new record but weighed in 4lb 9

well geejay had another small ray at about 12.30 but was really quiet now , phil headed off then me(would have stayed but had been clubbing night before, not a good idea ;-@ ) and also rich, will be intereseting to see how geejay did if stayed for the flood tide

a great night,6 species and everyone catching big smiles all round and will be remembered for a good long while

All For Ray and ray for all

cheers
dave

Re: Chasing the Ray-nbow

hi guys,
fished through to 4am, just the odd sporadic bite but no more fish.
it took me 10 mins to find the right road outa town then i took a wrong turn in honiton and found myself heading to exmouth .

felt pretty knackered so gave up on the idea of fishing the adalaide at first light, mainly coz it looked about an extra 40mile to get there.

top session and we all caught

here's the piccy of my 1st one

of 3lb. caught on a 3 hook flapper covered in bling , it was caught in close and gave a fair battle, i thought i had a bass till i saw the little feller.
